IMPORTANT NOTICE

KVAC UK : Royal Mail Issue

In recent weeks, we have identified issues with Royal Mail deliveries. Despite requesting next-day delivery service, delivery times have been inconsistent, and some requests have been lost.

Please note that KVAC is not responsible for the postal service, and any passport loss resulting from delivery issues rests solely with the applicant or Royal Mail. Therefore, we highly recommend that you either pick up your passport and visa at the KVAC office or provide a pre-paid envelope.

If you have any problems with your postal service, please contact Royal Mail directly. Once again, KVAC is not responsible for postal delivery.

REGARDING APPLICANT WITHDRAWAL: Visa denial + Restriction on visa issuance in cases of interference with KVAC operations

Recently, there has been an increase in applicants who, without considering the general visa processing time, request withdrawal of their applications citing reasons such as passport retrieval. This has disrupted the normal procedure of the visa application process, causing inconvenience to other applicants.
Therefore, effective March 25, 2024, applicants who submit visa applications without considering the general processing time and subsequently request withdrawal due to reasons such as simple passport retrieval (excluding humanitarian cases) may result in visa denial.

Furthermore, unannounced visits, unauthorized entry or intrusions, repetitive and indiscriminate communication (via email, phone), verbal abuse (shouting), insults, or threats that disrupt business operations may result in restrictions on visa issuance in accordance with the Ministry of Justice's ‘Guidelines for Sanctions against Individual Disrupting Visa Operations’ with a minimum duration of one year.

KVAC Paris : Security measures for the Olympic Games

Starting from June 17, 2024, until September 2, 2024, because of renovation works that will be conducted within the office and because of imposition of security measures for the Olympic Games in Paris, all passports are returned via post once the visa decision is made.

The KVAC in Paris kindly recommends all applicants who may submit their visa requests during this time to be aware of the above-mentioned restrictions and eventual implications in submission and collection time.

Please note that KVAC Paris remains open and processes visa requests during the Olympics period.

As the applicant is required to be physically present in the country where they are applying as part of the visa application process, applicants residing in France must send their application and passport to KVAC Paris. International posts are not accepted by all KVAC centers.

The visa processing time during summer peak season is 2 to 6 weeks and there is no expedite process. Please ensure that you submit the documentation complete and in compliance with the relevant checklist. Missing documents, incorrect information or incomplete or incorrect payments will cause delays in the processing time.

The KVAC and the ROK Embassy in Berlin recommends all visa applicants not to purchase flight tickets before the visa decision is made. The flight schedule will not be considered to expedite the processing time.

VISA DECISIONS AND CONDUCT GUIDELINES - VISA REJECTION

Upon receipt of your visa decision from the Consul, it is important to understand that the decision is final and cannot be reversed under any circumstances. In the event that your visa application is rejected, and you are dissatisfied with the outcome, we kindly emphasize the necessity of maintaining respectful and appropriate conduct. The use of abusive language, verbal harassment, or continuous and repetitive contact with the embassy or visa application center can result in repercussions under the 'Standards for Disciplinary Action for Visa Interference' as outlined by the Ministry of Justice. Please be aware that such actions may lead to visa issuance restrictions, which could extend for a period of up to 3 years.

KVAC VISA APPLICATION PROCESSING TIME

The general visa processing time takes 14 working days from the date when you submit all the required documents to our KVAC team. However, please note that if an applicant fails to provide all mandatory documents or necessary information, the processing time may be delayed.

During peak season, which varies depending on the country and the specific KVAC office, the processing time may take longer.
Generally, the peak seasons are during the summer (June to August) and winter (December to February).

Please make sure to plan in advance for the visa application submission for your timely departure. Your flight schedule will not be considered to make your visa processing time short.
